My Bio
I have a love of adornment, especially adornment of the self, and a love of the old, especially historical clothing. My passion is for costume. I have a Bachelor of Dramatic Art - Costume, and am about to commence a Master of History while working from my studio. A lot of my work has been for theatre & fashion, but I've done some film & TV also. My love of costume comes from the time I spent as a teenager working part time at Weta Workshop on the Lord of the Rings films in the armoury, where I learned a lot of basic leatherworking techniques and other costume skills. I am occasionally available for commissioned work, drop me a line if you'd like to talk costume.

Hello Claire Your rer 1885 dress is just what I have been looking for a movie that we are filming next week. I'm The lead female, costumer and executive producer. Last month I had some serious health issues.. nearly died twice..so everyone is Costumed but me..I'm sewing my own but..it's down to the last minute and.. Bam.. Mine shall look nothing like your 1885 dress..my you're talented, the world should see this dress.. I keep coming back to it. Go to IMBD.com look for Blade West, Showdown on the Brazos.. I would love to wear your dress in the saloon scenes. We'd put your name in the movie credits. Check me out on Instagram as well. Happy New year!
Your work is amazing!

I am in my first year of a costume course in the UK. I am hoping to be a designer and your work as given me a lot of inspiration.

Ps, absolutely love your 1885 red silk bustle, it is gorgeous. I love the Victorians.
Thanks, I'm really flattered. Keep it up, studying costume is excellent! I studied at NIDA here in Australia and I'm doing costume design at AFTRS now.
You're welcome.
Oh wow, that sounds awesome!
Hello Clare! Welcome to our #TheatreArtist's gallery. We specialize in promoting theatre artwork - stuff done for plays. I see you have exquisite costume art ion your gallery - please consider posting any theatre work you have done to us and we'll be glad to have your artwork in our gallery! How exciting! Your work looks so good.
Thanks! I don't really have any specific design work that's been on stage in a traditional theatre capacity - most of my design work has been for TV commercials. Most of my stage-used work has been undertaken in the role of cutter/seamstress, and as a costume supervisor (twice), so there aren't really any categories in the gallery my work fits into. My Baron Harkonnen costume was designed with the idea that it would be used onstage, but only appeared onstage while I did a lecture about the costume creation process to a theatre of people as my final degree piece.
Thanks for the compliments though - very much appreciated!
Ha! You are most welcome.
