Description
I'm currently studying costume design at AFTRS, and as an excercise we had to pick a film and re-design the costumes to change the tone ofthe film. I chose Dune, since the novel is my favourite book of all time. I created 10 illustrations that I felt made the overall feel more feudal and steeped in history - with inspiration from a variety of different eras in costume history, from Moroccan to Georgian design.
This was my favourite out of all the designs I did. I saw Piter almost as a psychological surgeon, a little ghoulish and very twisted. I've made a feature of the Sapho juice stains that the Mentats have on their lips - it's almost symbolic of the blood of the suffering he inflicts. I've echoed the red motif in an ombre on the outer sleeve drapery of the coat.
Total time taken was around 3 hours in Photoshop.

Can't help but love your girlie Piter! I like how you took his effeminacy ball and ran with it, given the costume and face.
